Hi, I’m Meg!
Let me tell you a bit about myself…
These days you’ll often find me hanging upside down, lifting heavy or out for a run… but it wasn’t always this way.
I didn't come from a fitness background. Quite the opposite, actually. I was overweight, unfit, lacking in confidence, hated the idea of exercise, and "health" wasn't something I'd ever really considered. I had no idea where to start, and like many, I made plenty of mistakes trying to figure it out on my own.
Over the years, I noticed I was slowly losing sight of who I was and lost my spark completely. And eventually enough became enough.
I wanted change, and soon drew the conclusion of “if I just lost weight, everything would feel better”. I jumped from one quick-fix to the next, that went nowhere and often made me worse off. I was terrified of the gym; nutrition was only ever about eating less and the goal was to always be smaller. If I’m totally honest, strength wasn’t even on the radar at all back then.
In 2016, things started to shift. I signed up for my first marathon (as a non-runner) and began studying for my PT qualifications. A year later, I achieved both on the same weekend, and I’ll be honest – I have never been so proud of myself. Looking back at where I’d started and how much I’d transformed in such a short space of time felt wild to me.
From that moment, my business ‘Flourish Fit’ was born, and I was going to make it my mission to be the coach I wish I'd had when I started…and more.
Training gave me purpose. I started seeing and feeling changes in my body and my mind, and I began to understand just how much the choices I was making around movement, food and how I was living were genuinely changing my life. Over time, I became much more confident in who I was, and wanted to be.
In 2021 I changed my business name from Flourish Fit to Your Project Me, which felt far more fitting to how my own health and fitness journey had evolved. And from this point, my business took off because I was so much more aligned with everything it stood for.
Later that year, I qualified as a nutritionist because throughout the years, I’d come to understand the role food plays not only in body composition, but in health and performance.
Reflecting on my own journey made me realise that outside of health and fitness – there’s also a life to consider. One that’s meant to be lived and enjoyed alongside all of this.
I’ve done it the hard way. I’ve tried things that both work and don’t work. I’ve tried making ridiculous sacrifices copying other people’s regimes in the hope I too would ‘look like them’, and the biggest lesson of all?
It’s not about them and what they do.
It’s about you and what you do.
Finding a way that worked for me changed everything, it brought calm again.
And you deserve that too.
